Time Flies When You Are Having Fun

Once upon a time, I blogged all the time. The end.
But not really. I am ashamed to admit that I couldn't even remember how to update my blog, it has been that long since I haven been on here. It's certainly not a New Years Resolution of mine to blog more often but I do hope to blog more often. And I should be capable of that seeing as how I have graduated and have no job and have a husband who is at school all day, then does home work and who has a time consuming calling in the church. So needless to say, I have A LOT of time on my hand. So now is a perfect time to play some catch up on my blog. Some highlights of the last 7 months have been.

Taking Matt on some of my favorite hikes. Crypt, Wishbone trail, Chief Mountain, Goat Lake, and or course Bear's hump. As you can tell he was a little afraid on top of Chief Mountain. (You can also tell I don't know how to format my pictures on here...)

Teaching him how to golf. He broke two of my dad's nice golf clubs in the process, but the end results were worth it. He has also become a pro golf ball hunter like my dad.

We got to see ALL our family members this summer. So much fun!

We also found out in August that we were expecting a baby! It's a dream come true for us. I didn't tell Matt in any fancy way, because I had gone to the Dr.'s office for something I thought was unrelated to being pregnant, but found out there that it wasn't! So I got home and Matt asked me what the diagnoses was and I said. "That you are going to be a daddy." We were both a little shocked for a few days and walked around the house repeating, "We are going to have a baby. We are going to be parents."

In October for Halloween we dressed up as an oven and a baker for our ward Halloween party. We thought we were pretty clever, until someone showed up dressed as the same thing, and their oven was a lot more fancy. Also you'll notice my bun is missing a couple of bites. Some friends of ours snuck into our house that day and thought it would be funny to eat have the roll...Little did he know I was planning on using it that night...

Matt played competitive soccer for the last time this year. They won all their games! It was a great way to finish and I was a nice wifey and went to all his games, no matter how late or how cold. Whether or not I saw the whole thing or sat outside cheering him on is a different story though.

For American Thanksgiving we travelled to Canada and got an ultrasound done while we were there. We found out we were expecting a little GIRL, which was sort of a shock to both of us cause we convinced ourselves it was a boy. Matt asked our Dr. "Now what is your confidence in that?" to which the Dr. Replied 99.9%. We were satisfied and so thrilled. We love her so much and can't wait to finally have her here! She moves all over these days in my stomach but you can't REALLY tell I am pregnant yet.

It was also Matt's birthday in November. We celebrated by going to Red Robin beforehand since his birthday was on a Sunday. Then I made him an Ice Cream cake, which was DELICIOUS. (And yes I made the plate and yes I am aware I spelt Celebration wrong. How embarrassing.)

In December I graduated. Hallelujah. It is very nice to be done, but now I have nothing to do, cause lets  be honest, getting a job in Rexburg is hard enough as it is already, then throw in that you are 6.5 months pregnant and leaving the end of March and your chances dwindle to below zero. I am hoping to be able to volunteer at the temple to make time go by. Other then that, I watch netflix, clean/organize the house, make dinner, exercise, nap, and am learning how to crochet in the meantime.

For Christmas we went to Fresno, California to spend it with Matt's mom. We were also able to make a little stop in Southern California where my brother and sister-in-law live. My parents were also with us so it was nice to be able to spend a little christmas time with them and enjoy a BOWL OF HEAVEN. Believe me, it really is a bowl of heaven. We went to the Fresno Zoo which was a lot of fun as I have only been to one other zoo in my life and that was when I was 10. Sadly no pictures were taken as my iPad was malfunctioning and my battery died. We also picked lemons and oranges and had homeade lemon meringue pie, lemonade, and fresh squeezed orange juice. The fruit trees alone have me thinking it's okay to live in California, granted we have a tree in our backyard! Also the 65 degree weather in the dead of winter doesn't hurt either...

Lastly, my most recent baby bump picture. She kind of exploded over christmas for some reason... I actually had a girl come up to me in church the other day and this is how our conversation went.
Her: You are pregnant right?
Me: Yup sure am.
Her: I thought you had to be cause there is no way you could've gained that much weight over Christmas. I was looking at your arms, legs, and face and they were still skinny, you just have a belly now.
I accepted her compliments gracefully.

Hellooooooo. I Am alive.
And I am married.
YAY. The day finally arrived and has been gone for over a month.
The other day Matt made a comment that went like this,
"How about one month feeling like 15 years"
It's almost hard to remember a time when I didn't have him.
Enough mushy stuff though, I'll tell you slightly about my big day.
I went to bed relatively early, like 11:00, but I probably didn't fall asleep until 1:00.
I didn't think I was very nervous but I couldn't fall asleep cause I kept thinking about the next day and that made me anxious and made me feel like I needed to use the bathroom.
EVERY 10 MINS.
I put in beauty and the beast and finally fell asleep for about 3 hours. Then woke up again and rolled around for an hour unable to get comfortable.
Apparently the floor was much more comfortable cause as soon as I moved onto the floor I was out, for about another 1.5 hours.
Anyway, Miranda came over and did my hair, Matt's sister painted my nails, and Karli got my temple bag and other basics all ready for me, which was a good thing cause I was late to the temple.
The temple ceremony was beautiful. I don't think I could ever adequately describe how it felt to have so many loved ones in the room and to be sitting across the alter from the love of my life and being sealed for time and all eternity. I had to kind of laugh, to stop the sobs from escaping my body cause I was just filled with so much joy and love.
Well we got out of the temple and the weather wasn't that great. It was REALLY windy. But hey it's cardston. I counted my blessings that is wasn't blizzarding... yet.
We got some great pictures, went to my luncheon which was full of fun, laughter, and yummy food.
By the time the luncheon was over huge snowflakes were falling from the sky. By the end of my reception the huge snowflakes had been coming down for hours and had caused some white out conditions.
So we stayed in Cardston for the night instead of going to our hotel in Lethbridge.
Not quite what either of us had in mind, but hey better to be safe then sorry.
Here are some pictures, cause I know that's all anyone really cares to see.

 My sweetie of a sister
I had to force matt to take this picture. I'm serious.
The girlies. My sister and her daughter flew from Atlanta for my special day.
My new mom, who also happens to be named Debbie like my mama. Meant to be.
Happy and fresh from the temple.

My best friends. 2 came from utah, one from Texas, and one from Lethbridge. Love them.
 All my sisters.

So grateful my sister Adria could be there for my special day. She has been such a strength to me and a wonderful example. I can't imagine this day without her.

Playing the shoe game.
We stood back to back with each others shoes in our hands and were asked various questions.
We raised the shoe of the person we thought the question applied to.
Like this one was probably who is most likely to make a fool of themselves in public.
Something like that.
Matt and I were quite in sync for every answer. The only one we answered differently was who spends the most money. The answer is still in debate. I will buy a lot of clothes with everything being under $20. Matt will buy things on sale but they will be things that are generally over $100 to begin with. So in the end I buy more things for the same price that he buys one.
Anyway that's a wrap on the day.
I'm sure that was a lot more information then you cared to hear, but I felt like I had to make up for not blogging in about 2 months.
Sincerely, Chanel Termeer.

Oscar.The.Rat.

I have a pet rat.
I love him.
Everything he does I find hilarious.
I can already tell I'll be one of those moms who their child touches their nose and I think it's adorable and think that everyone should know about it.
I have been training oscar for the last couple of weeks.
Let me give you some stats like he was my own child.
Oscar weighed 188 when we got him.
He weighed 248 when we started training but has lost a little weight and is now 237.
Oscar can eat food from my hand. His favorites are animal crackers and peas.
Oscar is a little clingy and doesn't like going to Matt or Madison. He'll go to them for a couple of seconds before he's running back into my arms.
We are working on training him to go to the bathroom in his cage. (We've had a few accidents)
Oscar can successfully press a lever to get food and will search for it under cups.
He hates baths and in retaliation he poops all over. I figure it's because I've literally scared the poop out of him.
Oscar is very curious and loves to sniff everything.
He likes to sit on my shoulders and burrow under my hair.
I think it's so cute when Oscar takes his little paws and cleans off his face, sniffs my face, or curls up in my arms.
I love Oscar and want to bring him home with me to Canada.
Matt isn't on board but I blame that on the fact that Oscar doesn't like Matt that much, therefore Matt doesn't like him. Plus he probably wants all my attention and knows Oscar would get to much of it.
I just can't bear the thought of him being eaten by a rat or being donated to science....
Crying.
Here are some pictures.

Interview special

A couple of weeks ago Matt and I got interviewed by my old FHE brother.
He had to create a youtube channel for one of his classes and it's about engaged couples.
He asked Matt and I a series of questions, without one another in the room, and then made a little interview out of it.
I wish it was longer and had more of our answers.
Matt and I talked about the questions and answers after we got interviewed and found that we had answered a lot of questions the exact same.
I loved that because it tells us just how much we have talked about things, how well we listen, and how much we know about the other.
It was a lot of fun to do and I love having this little piece of our love story.
Here it is, enjoy.
Engaged interview

And here are just 2 pictures of Matt and I.
Get used to this just being about Matt and I and nothing really else of importance.

Valentine's day

This is probably one of the first Valentine's day I really enjoyed.
Last year was great for the fact that I went to a Lady Antebellum concert.
But the cold hard truth is there is nothing better then spending the day with the person you love and doing sweet things for them.
I think I'll do it more often. Who says we need a special day set aside to show love?
For Valentine's day, Matt and I had talked about having pancakes in the morning but then he texted me that morning and said he just realized he had homework due in the next few hours so he wouldn't be able to.
About 15 mins later I got a text that said there was a surprise downstairs for me.
He had made heart shaped pancakes and had gotten everything I like on my pancakes all prepared for me. There was also an orchid on the table.
It was so sweet to come down stairs to that.
Later that day I decorated a table with a heart table cloth, heart shaped plates, champagne classes with hearts on them and then did the usual scattering of candy hearts and the unusual scattering of crispy chocolate soccer balls since Matt plays soccer.
Matt made me lasagna as that was our first date meal together and it was delicious. We just ended the night I think watching a movie or talking. Whatever it was it was great.
I so look forward to many more valentine's days with Matt.
