Girls trip

Every since graduating from High school we have talked about going on a girls trip. We had small get togethers in Waterton when we were all home from school or get togethers for each others weddings but never an actual trip! So when an opportunity came up to go to Arizona for a few days we jumped on it. Sadly, it wasn't a true girls trip as one was not able to make it that week. That just means we have to do it again!

We had such a blast. Arizona treated us well with hot weather, but not too hot. I think the hottest day was 106, none of this 117 they have gotte the last few days. We stayed in a family members condo where we had access to a few pools. We ate lots of good food, had lots of great girl talk, and got ots of sun. Only complaint is that it was too short! It was such a blast to get together with my best friends and feel as though no time has passed since we were last together. We all still liked the same things and always had something to talk about. Can't wait for the next one!

The sandy beach pool. There is some sand to play in that leads into the pool. Pretty neat!

Miss them!

We're having a baby!

I can't believe we are having baby number 2. I have felt ready for another baby for a while but now that it is really happening, I don't feel so ready! Luckily I have 7 more months to get myself there!

I didn't tell Matt in a super fancy way or anything. I took the test first thing in the morning and matt was laying in bed with Sienna. I got the idea to make him pancakes, spelling out Baby #2. Matt has a pretty normal morning routine shower>breakfast>dishes>work. So I go into the bedroom and tell him I was going to make pancakes and he could jump in the shower. And he replies, "Oh I don't think I am going to shower right now, I will come help you make pancakes." He was ruining my plan. I finally convinced him that I wanted to make him breakfast and to go shower. I will never forget Matt's face and response to seeing the pancakes. He turned to me with a big smile and tears in his eyes and said "Really? You're pregnant?" Oh it was magical.

Matt's mom came for a month and arrived on Sienna's birthday. We waited till she came so we could tell her and my parents together. We got a dq cake for "Siennas" birthday, but really we had them write our pregnancy announcement on it. Sienna was both sets of grandparents 9th grandchild and this one will be both grandparents 12th

So far this pregnancy has been much the same as with Sienna.

First symptoms: Heat flashes. My body was a furnace. Matt had to ask me to not touch him when we were sleeping cause I was too hot. Out of breath within like 2 minutes of exercising. HUNGRY. I hate waking up at four in the morning starving. Matt hates it cause I get crumbs in the bed. And bloating.
Additional symptoms: moody and sensitive. WAY more this time then with Sienna. Matt teases me about something stupid and I am sending daggers thru him with my eyes. In my head I know I am being irrational, but it feels so right.
1st cravings: Came at about 6 weeks. Potato chips. Followed by pickles.
Aversions: A classic salad. Romaine lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers. I can eat all those things separatly, there is just something about them combined that makes me queasy. Weird right? And Gum. I can't stand chewing it for longer then 10 minutes.
Due Date: November 14.
12 weeks.
We went in for a Dr. appt when I was 12.5 weeks to hear the heartbeat but it couldn't be found. The Dr. wasn't really too worried and told us we could either go get an ultrasound to be sure or come back in 2 weeks and try again. Well, I know I wouldn't stop worrying so we went for an ultrasound. We found out that little baby is doing great so far! The heartbeat was 161 and all the organs looked normal so far. Our tech was AWESOME. The clinic we go to doesn't print out the ultrasound pictures anymore, but puts them on a flash drive you can buy. Our tech told us that if we wanted to save money, when we got our 20 week ultrasound we could get both pictures on one drive. Then she was nice enough to let us take a picture of the screen just so we had something.
You don't even have to look that closely to see that in this picture our baby literally looks like a caveman. At least that's what I think. So if this is any indicator of future looks, I hope it's a boy. :)

We have ourselves a birthday girl.

AHHHHH is this real life? Where did my little baby go? Sometimes I want to go back 11 months and just have my cuddly sleepy baby for a day.

Sienna had a great birthday. She loved all the extra attention. For breakfast she had pancakes with cake frosting, which she loved. Then we went and picked up Grandma Termeer. Hello, what greater gift then a grandma, who then bought her some cute new clothes for her birthday. After we got home from a long day of travelling we had my parents over for ice cream cake. Such a lucky birthday girl.

Stats: last appt. told us she was 15 lbs 4 oz and 27 inchs, which finally put this girl on the charts (3rd and 10th percentiles). Happy birthday to her!
Favorite foods: tomatoes, lasagna, spaghetti, life cereal, oatmeal, peaches, cinnamon toast bread, cheesy toast, grapes, strawberries, French fries, and dog food...we babysat a dog for a weekend and Sienna could not stop getting into his food. Why would she want to eat that over some of the other stuff I try to get her to eat?
Also addicted to ketchup. If it's on the table she is pretty sure she needs some on her plate. She will just dip her fingers in and lick away.
New things: she has a new way to play peek a boo. I say "where is Sienna?" And she will place her head down wherever she is for a few seconds and then pop it back up. It's about the only way I get cuddles in when she places her head on my chest for a bit.
Personality: she is really the sweetest thing but this girl has got a high temper and low patience. If I don't get her what she wants in time she screams at me.
Loves: puppies! If they are around she follows them all over wanting to pull on their hair and touch their faces. We even put on a YouTube video that was just of dogs doing funny things and she was locked in on the screen. It was so funny.
She is also really fascinating by skin. She loves to pinch and pull on mine.
Loves her bag of crayons and hair elastics. She is always bringing them to me and isn't happy till the bag is opened.
Loves her soft minky blankets. Doesn't like to leave her crib without it and gets mad when matt steals it from her.
Loves going to the park and playing in the gravel. Mostly because she likes to suck on it.
Sleep: starting to go from 2 naps to 1! I am not quite ready for it but I am not ready to let her hang out with us till 9 either.

Can't get enough of her softy.

 Diva by day
Thug by night
This is her playing "where's sienna" See what I meant about some cuddle time?

She was so unsure about that tunnel but ended up liking it.
Just playing and eating rocks.

The dog we babysat. You can tell how much he liked Sienna too.

 THAT HAIR

How cute is that hat? AND THAT BABY

Just a little sienna sunday selfie. She loves to look at herself on the camera.

An Eleven monther

Whoop. One month away from being a whole year old. Yikes. How did this happen? Here is the usual Sienna Recap

Weight: 15 lbs 4 oz. She can still fit into 3-6 month clothes and has started wearing 9 month sleepers. It's a little bit funny.
New Foods: Fig newtons (thank you Aunt Donna for bringing them to California. These things have been life savers!), cooked carrots, cheese, pizza, adult cereal - as in she likes to steal bites of mine.
Interests: Pulling all the books off the book case and blankets/stuffies off a shelf. Also pulling out all her clothes from a draw as I try to put away the laundry. Likes to take lids off and put them again or open and close things. Loves stealing my glasses. Loves to open a door more and then close it, not all the way, behind her. Loves running water. Loves when Caleb comes over and they get to go exploring together. Fascinated by the fridge and always trying to play in there any chance she gets. Likes to be swung in a blanket onto the couch (sack of potatoes?) She loves the water and if the water temp was warmer, I think she could spend all day in there. Has some favorite songs: little bunny foo foo, happy and you know it, go Sienna go (diego theme song),
Story: I was babysitting Caleb for a couple of days and at first Sienna loved having him, like never heard her laugh and talk so much. But after about day two I think she was worried he was going to be coming over for forever. She started getting a lot more possessive of me and her toys. She started stealing whatever toy Caleb had of hers and once she was banging on my old lap top and Caleb tried to have a turn, but as soon as his arm touched she would push it off. So of course naturally Caleb started pushing hers off. It was rather entertaining to watch cause I really wasn't expecting this behavior yet!

I feel like I haven't taken as many pictures as I usually do. Guess we have just been busy doing other stuff!
We have gone to the Holiday Inn waterslides in Lethbridge a few times now. We love going with friends and getting our babies all together.

I have been so excited for this moment. Little baby pigtails are so cute to me! My sister even started crying when she saw sienna cause she thought it was so cute.

Nothing more sweet then seeing my babe cuddle with our babe.
Seriously. I love this skinny chicken legged, naked bum, girl.
My name is Luigi. I like to make the pizza.

Baby Einstein
Foodie

Reading books with Daddy. It melts my heart seeing them together.

California part 3!?!

We went to California, AGAIN. My parents were driving down to visit my brother and his family and asked me to tag along. Besides the warm weather as an incentive to go, my moms sisters were coming to visit, who had never seen Sienna and who knew when they would ever get to!  The drive about killed me with Sienna, but thankfully I had my parents who took turns with her. Also, we discovered Sienna gets a little car sick as after a while of playing on the iPad (shhh don't judge, it was 20 hours in a car. You would too.) she started throwing up, lots. Anything she had ate in the last 5 hours came up. Not the most convenient thing when you still have a four hour drive ahead of you and the car seat is covered in throw up. It was a pretty stinky ride.

But once in California we had a great time! Here is our stay in pictures.

We had some fun throwing the kids around. Sienna surprisingly loved it.

Crystal was teaching Sienna how to float. At first she was unsure but then she started flipping her head back trying to float herself.

Chocolate mustache.

Then we hit up the beach. Oh how we love the beach! At first Sienna didn't want to touch the sand with her feet, then it progressed to just letting the sand run thru her fingers, and then it was all down hill from there and she started eating it. SHE. WOULDN'T. STOP.

One day we went to Irvine Park Railroad. It has a cute little train ride you can go on, pony rides, a playground, and a duck pond.
ALL ABOARD!
Trying to wave like the conductor.
Jadyn on a pony. She wanted "Trampy" to walk her around on the pony, and boy was he thrilled...

Best friends beat each other up right?

Last but not least, you can't go to California without visiting Bowl of Heaven. They are starting to expand into other states (Fingers crossed for a Canadian location someday!). Go to their webpage and find out if their is a location near you. If there isn't plan a trip to California just for it. It's seriously that good.
