Go, hop. GO

I think I likeEaster as much as halloween or Christmas with kids! Maybe its just the age but sienna was so cute. We went to an easter egg hunt at the Remington Carriage Museum. They put tons of chocolate eggs out on the walk ways thru the museum and the kids get to gather as much as they can. Slightly chaotic. I ran Sienna ahead a little cause I'm that mom and put her down next to tons of chocolate eggs and tried to encourage her to pick them up and put them in her basket. But she grabbed two and was just so excited to have those two she could care less about anymore. I couldn't get her to let go of those two. Anytime I tried she pulled them to her chest and said "Sisi's" which is better then "mine" right? We had heard that this event can be psycho and that kids leave crying cause they didn't get any eggs and they never want to go again. So we had bought eggs in case this happened. We took Sienna and her friend Caleb out to the lawn and threw chocolate eggs out for them to gather. They were seriously so excited and cute. Gosh, I love having kids.

The easter bunny was there. Sienna didn't really want to touch him but she loved him! And for days after she kept saying "Go, hop. Go." She just wanted to see him again so bad. FYI hop means bunny.

Then we did the Easter egg hiding at our house Thusday night cause Matt was leaving for Utah that day.

happy 4 months

I seriously feel that in no time I will be writing his 1st year birthday post.

Lets see what went on this month for David

  • Got his first sickness and it was a doozy. He had a fever for 4 days and the worst cough I have ever heard. At least he wasn't throwing up and he was still eating and for the most part a happy boy! Found out he had a bronchial and ear infection. Poor baby.
  • Went on his first plane ride and did great. He did a lot of nursing and a lot of sleeping. Threw up once and pooped out of his diaper once.
  • Talks like crazy. Love hearing his little coos. Sometimes he even makes a "mama" sound
  • Loves to be in a standing position. Might be because he is so stiff...It's a lot of work to make him just sit.
  • Has the biggest smile and will smile at anyone. Gosh I love his smile. His whole face just lights up.
  • Loves to fall asleep to the vacuum... Our white noise apps just aren't loud enough sometimes.
  • Getting a little better at naps. It's a bit of work to get him to nap longer the 45 mins.
  • Loves to nurse to sleep. Trying to nip that in the bud.
  • Chews his fingers like they are candy. He always manages to sneak his hands up out of his swaddle and into his mouth
  • After a few diligent days of holding the pacifier in his mouth, he finally likes it enough to take it and fall asleep with it. But like Sienna, as soon as he is asleep he pushes that thing out and is usually fine after.
  • Used the jolly jumper for the first time and thinks its okay.
  • Rolls over from tummy to back.
  • He can change the direction he is facing when laying down. He rolls to his side and somehow shimmy's over. If he is facing away from the TV he especially uses this move so that he can see it.
  • Starting to grab and hold onto things. Especially loves putting them in his mouth.
  • Sleeping worse at night. We are getting up about every 2 hours these days!
  • likes to be tickled in his arm pits, on his collarbone/neck area and on his back.
  • Likes raspberry's on his tummy and cheeks.

NC round 3

We love going to North Carolina. This is the third time we have gone. We usually go during the summer and go camping, but it worked better for some of us to go during the winter time. It was a crazy good time. There were 12 kids and 5 adults in a 4 bedroom house.
Highlights of the trip
  • The airplane ride to North Carolina went down without a hitch! Sienna seemed excited to be on an airplane. The people I sat next to were grandma's and grandpa's so they were actually excited to have a baby sitting next to them.
  • Sienna loved the walking escalators. We rode those things up and down during our layovers
  • Got to be outside! We went for walks, rode on scooters, and went to the park.
  • Marbles Children Museum. This place was so cool! They had so many different centers for children to explore. There was a ambulance, firetruck, helicopter, vet, farm, grocery store. We are talking like equipped with things that could be in those places, Clothes, firehouse, electric shock paddles, all sorts of grocery items. That was on the bottom floor geared more towards younger kids. Upstairs they had a pretend ice skating rink, a rock climbing wall, a kids playground and some other things. It was so much fun. A kids dream! And it's not even that expensive to go.
  • We were almost in a tornado! We had to take the I-95 home from the childrens museum and a tornado was en route to go thru it. Our 1.5 hour drive home was windy, rainy, and scary! We stopped once and later found out that 10 miles up ahead was the tornado!
  • Good food. We went to Red Robin and to tepanyaki. Amazing. We had home cooked dinners and breakfasts every other time. Oh the food was good.
  • Strawberry pizza and coffee cake. More food. The food was so good (this line is Matt).
  • We played cards almost every night
  • We made Family reunion shirts
  • Took family pictures
  • birthday cupcakes.everyone gets to decorate a cupcake, then we sing to them and take pictures for next years family calendar
  • Lastly, all of us being together. I'm so glad Sienna got to spend that time with cousins and develop a relationship with them. She came to love Brooklyn. We loved spending that quality family time together. We miss it!
LOWLIGHTS
  • Almost everyone got sick. Sienna and David both had really bad coughs and David had a fever for 4 days. Got back home to find out they had ear infections and bronchial infections. :(
  • Lack of sleep. From sick kids to playing cards. There weren't many nights we didnt go to bed before midnight and we were often up by 7.
  • It was windy and rainy a few days
  • The airplane ride home. We had given sienna gravol on the plane ride there but forgot on the way home. This resulted in her throwing up all over during landing. Luckily she had only ate a sucker and drank a bunch of water.
  • David threw up all over my lap in the first plane ride. Of course I didnt have a change of clothes so I got to sit in wet stinky pants for the next 8 hours.
  • We ran out of gas on the way home and had to take a small detour in order to find an open gas station at midnight.
  • We couldn't stay longer!

David 3 months

Hello big boy!
David has grown so much. I love it. I actually don't feel like he needs to slow down. Mostly because I feel like he was never quite a newborn, maybe cause he was different then Sienna. I felt like we skipped that stage so I don't really have a squishy cuddly newborn to miss.

*Weight: 12 pounds something... I forgot to really pay attention when he got weighed (10th percentile)
*Height: 23.75, 25th percentile
Everyone thinks David is so big but those percentiles say otherwise. I think he seems big because he is so alert all the time and active and not to mention he has a pretty big noggin.
*David smiles all the time. You are so easy to make smile. We are getting into some little laughs.
* Started sitting in the bumbo and LOVES it.
* Still isn't the best napper
* Doesn't like a pacifier. I am convinced if he did he would nap better. I haven't give up yet on him
* Squirms almost out of his car seat if not buckled in.
* Loves to eat his hands. He tries his best to wiggle them out of his swaddle and into his mouth.
* Enjoys tummy time. He seems to be getting the idea of what it takes to roll over.
* Quite enjoys his bath. If he is frantic for what seems like no reason, we give him a bath
* CONSTIPATED. Poor boy. In a week he had only pooped once and it was small. He made up for it though when he exploded. We are talking thick poop all down one leg and all over his little bum. It was definitely a bath time blow out.
*Went on his first plane ride! He did so good. There was tons of turbulence but he never seemed to mind. And I sat next to a grandpa one flight and a grandma the next and they were so sweet and didn't mind a baby at all.
Despite his expression, he really does love the bath!

He's pretty good at flashing a smile for the camera.
Look at him hold that big noggin up.

 Loving the bumbo
Went thru a phase for a couple of days where he pursed his lips a lot.
And another phase where he stuck out his tongue all the time.
We sure love this sweet boy. He is happy most of the time and makes us happy, 99% of the time. If he could just sleep more at night...

Miss Si Si

Just thought I'd do a little sienna update. I wish I was better at updating more singular events instead of  doing it all at once.

Sienna moved into a big girl bed about a week after David came. We thought she would have a hard time but she loved it! She did really well in the beginning with staying in her bed until we came in to get her... now a few months later, not so much. She no longer takes naps in her room because she will play the whole time and she often falls asleep at bedtime by the door with her pillow, blankets and stuffies.
She is speaking quite a bit more. She says some 2-3 word sentences like thank you, here you go, bye bye pup pup.
She loves anything she can eat with something like ketchup, ranch, and salsa. And she eats best when she is distracted. So breakfast is often eaten in the bath tub and lunch and dinner while watching peppa or playing with some toy.
She has become obsessed with peppa pig and could watch it all day and if we arent watching it she wants me to read her the books. mostly she just wants to watch it.
Sienna loves to play outside. We can not wait for the weather to warm up annd the wind to die down so we can be out there everyday. She likes to play in the snow the only problem is she hates wearing gloves and loves eating snow so her hands get cold very fast.

Getting good use of the baby swing before David came
I can't remember how her mattress and herself  ended up by the dresser...
She has become obsessed with bubbles and they disappear to fast when we fill up the whole tub so she has been bathing in davids baby tub.

On this instence Sienna had brought her bear into the bathroom with her but left him outside the tub. I went to go get David and came back to find sienna had snuck him ito the tub. She was so happy as every time she takes a bath she tries to bring in some stuffed animal.

this girl is so busy. Some of the things that keep her busy for longest are playing with flour, beans, rice, water...anything messy.
I love these to! Sienna is so good with David. She says hello to him in the morning, helps me rock his bed, brings me diapers for him and if he is crying she will show him her pup pup.

Hehe, cutie bum

 Cuddles with Dad.
Matt told her to say cheese and this is the face she gave.

 Loving the Snow

Sometimes she likes to pretend she is a baby. She hasn't used a pacifier for over a year now but every once in awhile she grabs davids to play with.
She loves to play with my old make up. Also, she has worn that shirt for 4 days in a row, all because it has a pup pup on it. And I LOVE her hair in pig tails.

Her bed head freaks him out.
She is getting to the stage of wearing others shoes. She loves to wear my flip flops.
This girl has been showing some major love to her dad lately and it is so wonderful. They have so much fun together!
