Who Knew a Pretzel could be so fun

I had to lead a class discussion today and I wanted to bring a treat.
Sometimes I get sick of everyone always bringing cookies, cake, skittles blah blah so I decided to make pretzels to shake it up a bit.
Well let me just say, the recipes online need to be a little bit more clear on their directions or something because obviously I wouldn't do anything wrong when making pretzels...
That being said the dough did not work out. We had to add about a cup more water and by that time the dough was SUPER tough. So we bagged the pretzel idea and madison made this out of it...

Which then turned into this....

He was a great partner for yoga
BUt he misbehaved so we punished him by putting him in the oven.
And we might have ended up eating some of him because he smelt so good. It was a little morbid since we had gotten so close to him and for the fact he had been on my head and handled by all of us... good thing we cooked it at such a high temperature right?
I just picked this bum off the streets of Rexburg. He looked hungry so I figured he could enjoy some pretzels with us.

And this is completely random. But I had thrown my hair into a ponytail to wash my face and I was curious as to how it looked. And this is what I found.

It separated my hair perfectly into blonde and brown and it made it look like it was in a bow. To bad I will NEVER be able to replicate this.

I never know what to title my posts.

Okay a few items of business.
This weekend was going to be amazing but a series of unfortunate events occurred.
First off, I was going to go rock climbing.
But when we showed up there was an ambulance and a girl had fallen off the wall.
So it was kind of back up while they got that worked out.
Instead we went bowling. Still fun, just not rock climbing.
Then on Saturday I was going to go cross country skiing. I was beyond excited.
Woke up that morning to a mini-blizzard so we cancelled.
We still went out to a cabin in island park and went hot tubbing, ate pizza and watched the movie warrior. It just wasn't cross country skiing.
Next is just a happy bragging moment for me.
I'm in a badminton class and right now we are having a mixed singles tournament.
The first person I had to play was the TA. So of course he was amazingly good.
I know he could've KILLED me, but he was gracious and made it a close exciting game, which I ended up winning. This gave me an extreme confidence boost. I next played the top guy in the class, who because of that confidence boost I ended up beating.
When I told the coach I won, he just looked at me and said, "Chanel you are an animal"
Proudest moment ever.
Also I think I love swimming because I think it really helps with cardio. The last 3 times I've gone running I've been able to average about 6.5 to 7 minute miles. This is a big jump from the 9-10 minute miles that I've been doing my whole life. The only thing I can attribute it to is swimming, that's all I've changed in my life.
Well there is a run down of my life.
This about sums up how I feel about today.

Lady A

Lady Antebellum was out of this world.
They are sooooo good in concert.
My love for country music has grown substantially.
A few years ago I can remember dreading driving to Idaho for school because my car only had the radio and I was going through Montana A.K.A country state. I knew that only country music would be on so the majority of the drive I drove in silence. That's how much I disliked country music. Now it's completely different. When I drive through Montana I search through every station in hopes of finding a good country song on. In Idaho over half of the radio stations I have saved in my car are Country stations. I don't know what's come over me.
But I love it.
So Lady Antebellum. We were originally sitting in section 139 better known as the nose bleed section. But thankfully Shayne used to work in utah for the Bee's and ran into one of the guys he used to work with who gave us a seat upgrade. We got to sit in section 10, which was a reserved section nonetheless. It made the experience so much better. I don't think I stopped dancing the WHOLE NIGHT LONG.

Ironically my room mate and her boyfriend were going to the concert as well. We didn't pick our seats out together but some how ended up sitting in the same section just a couple of rows away.

I don't know if you can tell from this picture (above) how high up we were and then with the one below how much better our seats were.

Oh hey guess what I'm doing tomorrow for Valentines Day?
I might not have a hot date with a boy I love that will shower me with gifts and loving words.
But I will still be the happiest girl tomorrow as I watch Lady Antebellum perform LIVE.
I can't wait to hear them sing Just a Kiss, Dancing Away With My Heart, and Cold as Stone.
At least I hope they sing those ones. They are from their new album so it should be a given.
Anyway, pretty sure this is going to be the best Valentines Day I've ever had.
Fingers Crossed, knock on wood.
And here are my Valentine Nails.

Weekend Recap

This weekend was just a nice relaxing one.
I did quite a bit with Madison which was fabulous.
We painted our nails for Valentine's day, made homemade bread, and homemade beef stew.
SOOOO GOOOOD.
I'm doing the Lazy man to Iron man again for a free t-shirt.
I have a month to run 26 miles, bike 112 miles, and swim 3 miles.
The great thing is that I've learned I don't hate swimming as much as I thought I did.
I went to G's dairy. Yum.
I watched the dumbest show EVER. Save yourself 2 hours and don't watch the show "one day."
Then I also finger painted for a date.
Of course finger painting turned into face painting. I obviously won both finger and face painting competitions.
Then I went to a super bowl party.
It was fun but kind of a let down since no one there cared for either team. They all wanted the 49ers to be in it so that made it less exciting. Not like I really care, I just went to socialize.
And that is my weekend.
