Day In The Airport.

Well as my blog before stated. My flight back home got delayed by not just 2 hours but 3. I thought it was going to be the worse day of my life. Stuck in an airport for 6 hours with nothing but my laptop. But me having my lap top made me popular cause people wanted me to try and find out what's going on with our flight, and that is how I became friends with 2 guys. We bought a deck of cards and played for a couple of hours. So the day turned out not to be so bad, especially because I won every game. I even got ice cream out of it.

stuck.GRR

Oh if only I had known my flight would be delayed 2 hours. Then I would not be sitting all alone in the airport. I would be shopping with my sisters, spending all my money on things I don't really need (so this could be a good thing). But since that isn't the case I figured I could blog about the christmas holidays with my family in texas.

It wouldn't be a beazer christmas without some poker(rumoli) and beer(root beer of course)...
the traditional white elephant gifts. Some were a little outrageous this year. In case you can't tell that is my dad in the picture sporting a floral shirt and floral pants, which is a big fashion no no, but to add to it he adds flip flops and socks. He really took the biscuit there.
Mama Beaz pretty in pink calling princess kami on her princess phone.
Then we went to the show homes and let me tell you I've never seen such beautiful homes. There wasn't one house that had everything I would've wanted but Of all the houses I saw I think I could piece my dream home. First picture is of my favorite living room the next is of my fav bathroom.

This is at the Alamo grounds. It was pretty interesting. We went on a cute liitle river ride. I'm sad to say that I still don't know anything about the alamo. I spent most of my time taking pictures of these two.

walky walky.

Here I am in beautiful Houston Texas. The sun is shinning, birds are chirping, and alligators are chomping (so we are told). We went on a sunday walk to get out of cooking dinner and to also be away from all the food and candies so we actually had an appetite later.

All of the girlies. Crystal almost fell in a few times running to get into the picture.
Jumping pictures are a must

Temple Lights

This weekend I had the pleasure of going to temple square with some of my favorite people in the world. My sister and her best friend shelby, my favorite yoga loving chocolate eating room mate nikki, and 2 of my bestest friends in the whole wide world karli and nelson and my brother. We went and looked at the beautiful temple lights and the nativities from around the world.
I just love nelson. He is one of my best guy friends. As you can tell we are so happy together.
Karli was getting in touch with her japanese side
The salt lake temple.
I wish it was easier to take pictures of all the lights, i just don't think a photo could justify but they are beautiful, and so are my friends.
My room mate nikki. I just love her we have so much together and have a lot in common so it's great. It was freezing cold so I had to get myself an apple cider, a perfect addition.
I just love my family. I'm highly enjoying my time in texas with them thus far.

Update.

Just so anyone who happens to read my blog knows I have great news! The other morning I walked into the bathroom and happened to look on the floor and what did I find?! The diamond from my turn your luck around ring! It must have fallen on the carpet somewhere and eventually got dragged in there because it was right by the door and my mom had said she'd even swept the day before. This ring has proven how lucky it really is. :)

CHOCOLATES!

For the last few years my mom has made chocolates at christmas time. And let me tell you making chocolates is a lot harder then you might think. No wonder they can be so expensive! But they are so good and so worth it. Right now my favorite is hazelnut, probably just because I love the flavor of hazelnut more then any other flavor.

Rolling out the fondant.

Beating the fondant with a stick. This take some serious arm muscle.
Dipping the chocolates.
Rolling them in some coconut. Not gonna lie coconut is pretty good. Right up there with hazelnut.
Finished Dark Mint Chocolates.

Blizzard Continued.

It's the next morning of the first blizzard of the year. And it's been a Doozy. There is at least a foot of snow with drifts as high as 6 feet tall. I was suppose to go to work this morning at 8, but there wasn't a chance my little saturn was going to get out of the driveway. There were already 3 people stuck outside my house so I didn't even bother trying. I called extra and told them I'd come in if somebody would come and pick me up, but there wasn't anyone willing so I got a snow day from work. So Madison, Eric and I went out this morning and walked in the winter wonderland and took some pictures.
Main street after they plowed. The sides of the road are insane. Snow is piled everywhere.

BLIZZARD

There a storm a brewing in Southern Alberta! It's been a good one so far. I'm hoping it keeps up all night, with the 50-70 km winds that have been forcasted. That way I might not have to go to work tomorrow cause I simply won't be able to get out of my driveway. I tried to take some pictures, but it's not very easy at night.

Homemade Christmas Sweaters

Last year there was an ugly christmas sweater party. Me and Jennica couldn't find any in the thrift stores so we came up with the genius idea of making our own. We found some christmas oven mitts and stockings at thrift stores and then used old christmas decorations to complete the outfit. Our sweaters were definitely the best at the party. The main reason I'm blogging about this is because not only do i want to show off my excellent work of art but my sister wanted to see them cause she was thinking of making her own and obviously needed my sweater as inspiration.

Fruit Cake

At extra foods I've had the pleasure of unloading and displaying about 25 boxes of various fruit cakes. So I've come to hate them a little bit. While putting them out today I used one to help me stand up and it made me think about the many uses of fruit cakes.

1. As already proven they can help you stand up when you are having a little trouble.
2. You can use as a yoga block or depending on if you get plain or nuts on top you've got 5-8 pound weights.
3. You could play various sports with them, like rugby and football.
4. They'd make great siding for a house. Brick is out, fruitcake is in.
5. Door stoppers.
6. Chew toy for your dog.

I'm sure there is plenty more that it is good for besides giving it to friends who will rewrap it and give it to their friends, but those are just a few that I thought of. I bet you are just dieing to go buy some fruit cake now. The possibilities are endless.
