What news..?

There's a motto in my family that goes like this " No news is good news" Short and simple. We never call when we leave for vacation cause we just assume that if we haven't heard from one another everything is okay. I always like this motto until recently. Now I think it's worse to hear nothing at all then to hear something. Cause once you hear, even if it's terrible news at least you can stop wondering.
